Volunteers
The Sharks need our parents and volunteers to keep the team
running! Volunteer activities are coordinated by the Sharks Swim
Team Partner Association (SSPA). Please check out the Swim Team
directory for contact information for chairmen below.

Apparel – MAUREEN KELAHER - Obtains vendor, distributes information on
merchandise available, collects monies and orders as well as organizes
distribution of merchandise.
Social Events – LEE DIPRIZITO / CATHY HOMMES - Organizes swim team social events as
necessary, i.e. Halloween “kick off” party, Memorial day parade, annual
summer picnic. Prepares information to be distributed regarding time and
date of event. Obtains necessary assistance in helping to prepare and
run events.
National Team Fund Raising – JAMES TAYLOR - Plans and coordinates with
the approval from the head coach activities during the swim season to
provide fundraising for the Y National team.
National Team Travel Support – LORI CRAFT - Works with the coaches
to coordinate travel arrangements for National Meets.
Parent Liaison – CAROL KRAJEWSKI - Organizes and obtains a parent liaison
for each practice group. Ensures that a liaison is available during
practice time in the beginning of the season to answer new swim team
members’ questions. Contacts group liaison as necessary throughout the
year.
Directory – ANNE MARIE SILVERMAN - Collects and prepares information from all
swimmers for inclusion in the Sharks Swim Team Directory. Handles
distribution of directories.
Public Relations – DIANA WOLF - Collects photos and prepares
articles for inclusion in local papers.
Team Records – JOHN SURGENT / LORRAINE LIULAKIS - maintains updated records for swimmers
on the swim team record board.
Transportation/Directions - ADAM RICKLES - Obtains buses necessary for
transportation to dual meets. Maintains and posts an updated directory
for directions to both Invitational and Dual meets.
Travel Coordinator – CAROL MATEO / BETH RICKLES - Schedules block rooms for all
distance Invitational Swim Meets. Coordinates any additional travel
arrangements as necessary. Bulletin
Bulletin Board/Communications Assistant - HIROKO HOSOI
-Maintains and updates
the swim team bulletin board throughout the swim team year. Assistants
in improving swim team communications as necessary.
Website – CHRIS CLAUSS / DAVID GORDON / OLEG LEDENIOV - Maintains the Sharks Swim Team website.
Volunteer Coordinator – GAIL KELLY - dual meets - recruits and
oversees a parent for each dual meet team who is in charge of obtaining
the necessary volunteers to run a dual meet. Invitational meets –
organizes and assigns the necessary volunteers to fulfill our timing
obligations.
Officials Coordinator – JOHN KELLY - Organizes all team officials.
Ensures that there are adequate officials available for all dual swim
meets. Obtains and distributes information regarding upcoming official
courses for all interested swim team parents.
Concessions – JILL HEALY / DORIS KOLODKO - Recruits the necessary volunteers to bring
food donations and to run the snack shack. Ensures that a snack and
drink is available for all swimmers after each home dual meet.
